WHAT DO YOU SEE BY MICHAEL BLACK

No matter the size, style, or contour of a window the view is the reason for the translucent glass which allows us to see outside. The view is everything. Seasons may change the earth’s natural backdrop to the daily movies which are captured by every window’s framework. Quite sure, every now and then the names and faces do change but ultimately the view remains the same. The view is everything.

Early in the morning the cascading drops of dew reflect the sun’s awakening rays. Sounds appearing mysterious are unmasked by night’s departure. Structured of fantasy intertwined governed by shades of black and blue mixed with silver of the starts transform into ordinary building in the day. The symphonious rumbling of cars, truck, and motorcycles crescendoing into silence as destinations are reached give way to the rest of the days unlimited possibilities. Yes, the view never really changes. We change though… allowing the matters at hand to rob us of moments of peacefully joy and reflection.

Learning to live in the moment is often like the view out of a window. Perhaps your yard has been neglected and the grass is quickly becoming a min-forest. Frustration and irritation sets in because someone should have cut it by now. Maybe that someone was you… But what are those small yellow honey-kissed flowers that have begun to bloom where no flowers should be? Their petals a stark contrast to the hard-deep green of the yard: beauty amidst chaos; treasure in the middle of trash?

What do you see? It easy to become emotionally invested in negativity when we have the ability to choose our view even when it is standing in front of us. Often times, it is about a choice.
