Various studies have been made on why human beings operate in such a way: togetherness in calamity; separated in prosperity.
The Moore Haven Laundry service may be one of the few exceptions to this rule. The laundry handles around 900 residents’ soiled clothing as well as sheets and blankets. Also, laundry must maintain a specific schedule regardless of holidays which often interrupt the normal flow of work hours. Still, they, a small group of men led by Ms. Gonzalez, pull together to provide quality service which most residents will admit is a step above normal Florida prisons.
When talking to the laundry crew, there is never a dull day. However, whether good or bad they work together as a team to make clean work out of a dirty job.
