RENAISSANCE MAN OF THE NEW AGE! BY MICHAEL BLACK
(AN INTERVIEW WITH MR WILLIS. PROGRAM CLERK)
What’s with Batman?
My affinity for Batman started when I was three years old. My dad bought me Batman-everything!
Many staff and residents say that you are a congenial person to with with. Why do you think this is true?
I’m big on respect. I do not judge based on a person past and I am pro resident. When I come to work I leave my outside life behind and am conscious of always showing a great first impression. I strive to maintain a high level of happiness.
What is your motivation in coming to work?
First and foremost, I like people. I like helping people. While I have worked previously with juveniles and in the medical field, I have never worked in education. But I find working in programs both challenging and rewarding. I have a chance to help men prepare themselves for the future. A great feeling.
What or who is your inspiration in life?
My parents. My mother is a school teacher. My father is a retired correctional officer.
What are your aspirations at More Haven?
Believe it or not, I want to become a corrections officer, then return to programs. I would then consider becoming an instructor.
What is one thing that you are passionate about?
Fashion. Not so much concerning design but rather style. I’m always trying to put my spin on the days fashion. Instead of blending in, I believe a person should stand out. I have hopes of starting a social media network supporting my personal designs.
Back to our initial topic: What do you like about the cape crusader?
The fact that he has no superpowers and yet he finds a way to save the day, changing people lives for the better.
So, your like Batman in a sense?
Yeah, I guess so. I believe I can save the day or change someone life for the better just by the tools God gave me.
